A Picture Says Stuff

Recently I stumbled upon a new hobby I didn't know that I was interested in; Photography. Using our tax returns this year, Colette and I decided that we would get a new camera. We've had a Canon PowerShot SD750 that has been treating us quite well. Unfortunately while point and shoot cameras are great for every day family memories there are a lot of things that they cannot do. As a result we got ourselves a Canon EOS Rebel XS. For those keeping score that is a DSLR camera.

As I am prone to do I quickly started absorbing as much information as possible. For the past week there hasn't been a day that I didn't spend too much time taking in a many tips, tutorials, workshops and forum posts as possible. And because of all of the aforementioned absorption I've really started to enjoy the wild world of photography.  So now I'm going to post some of my super amateur pictures!

This is a picture I took this morning of the snowfall. Considering this time yesterday there wasn't any snow in sight I thought it was a nice photo.

This next one was just a practice photo. A fine gentlemen on Photo.net suggests looking at photographs as capturing light rather than taking a picture. I really like how the shadows interact.

And the last one for today is just a cute picture of Zoey.
